Ditto Assassin's Apprentice, the first of the Farseer trilogy. I liked it, but I felt it was too much of an introduction, and there were too many plots and sub-plots [etc.]. This book is so pathetic that I didn't have the stomach to complete the entire book. Given that this is part of a trilogy and the trilogy is actually part of a set of trilogies (so 9 books total), there is far more to see in this world. Assassin's Apprentice Assassin's Apprentice is the first book in the Farseer Trilogy, a introduction to the world of the Six Duchies, and to the story of Fitz Farseer. It opens up the Farseer universe and promises much more to come. And I have to say I'm glad I finally read Robin Hobb's Assassin's Apprentice. I recently purchased both Jean Johnson books and want to read them this year. Given that Sword & Laser, one of the shows on the amazing Geek & Sundry lineup, is reading the book this month, I figured: it's time. The Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb is the first of the Farseer fantasy trilogy and boy is it a disappointment. Now, this book begins with young Fitz But back to the book. So I'm hoping desperately that The Farseer Trilogy as a whole doesn't collapse in a similar manner. Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb. Because I really loved the first book.
